Outdoor wedding at Oswald House
Kirsty & Fraser
14th May 2022
Kirsty & Fraser had an outdoor wedding at Oswald House on Saturday 14th May 2022, a beautiful wedding venue in Fife.
There is only one word to describe this wedding....FUN!
The weather went in our favour and it turned out to be a roasting hot day so the wonderful staff at Oswald House were able to set up outside for the ceremony. There was also a bouncy castle and play area to keep the kids entertained as well as a band for during the drinks reception (more on them later).
Kirsty, her two young daughters, and her bridal party all spent the morning upstairs in the honeymoon suite getting ready. It's a lovely big room with lots of great window light and tons of space to move around. I was able to capture some great images of everyone getting ready and enjoying the morning. Some of my favourite images from the day happened here as Kirsty's bridesmaids saw her in her dress for the first time and then her dad too, a short while later.
The ceremony itself was a short and simple humanist service with a reading from Kirsty's mum and a quaich full of whiskey at the end.
Kirsty and Fraser then walked back down the aisle together as their guests showered them in confetti.
We managed to get through most of the family and bridal party photos quite quickly as we had planned all this in advance and came prepared with a list of photo combinations. I always recommend that my couples do this as it saves time and makes this part of the day run much more smoothly, especially if you have someone who can run around and herd people together!
For the couple's photos, we went for a short walk through the grounds at Oswald House to a nearby rose blossom or cherry blossom bush, I'm not sure exactly what it was but it looks nice! We didn't stay too long here but I'm super happy with the images.
Kirsty hired an incredible band called '3's A Crowd' who were set up outside and kept everyone entertained until we were called for dinner.
If you haven't heard them, click their name above to check them out. They are highly recommended! They had everyone up on the patio area dancing away to lots of classic tunes and even had a few guests doing the Slosh! It made for some great photographs.
The night ended with the couple's first dance, a father and daughter dance, and then another rendition of the Slosh! I spent my last half an hour or so on the dancefloor trying to capture as many images of people dancing as I could. It's always a great way to end the night!
I also need to mention that I was working alongside Rob from Black Fern Media for this wedding and it was a lot of fun. He's a great guy and makes incredible wedding films. If you are in need of a videographer I'd highly recommend checking him out. Click the name above to see some of his work.
I'm so thankful to have been a part of Kirsty & Fraser's special day and to be able to capture all these wonderful memories for them.
