intimate barn wedding at Fruin Farm
Kelly & Kirsty
28th May 2022
Kelly & Kirsty had an intimate barn wedding at the beautiful Fruin Farm on Saturday 28th May 2022.
Fruin Farm is a beautiful venue located amongst the foothills of the Trossachs and only a mile or so from the shores of Loch Lomond. It has an intimate and rustic feel to it, especially in the barn where Kelly and Kirsty had their ceremony.
The ceremony was a short and sweet humanist service finished with a sand ceremony in which both brides took turns filling a glass jar full of coloured sand to signify the blending together of their lives and families. The barn is a small and intimate space with stone walls and low wooden beams decorated with fairy lights and lanterns giving it a warm, romantic feeling. It was the perfect setting for these two to tie the knot!
Once the ceremony was over it was back outside into the sunshine for drinks and canapes and we made a start on the family and group photos. This part of the day went smoothly and I managed to get through all the combinations fairly quickly, which I think the guests appreciated as it was very bright and very warm!
For the couple's photos, we went for a short walk through the grounds at Fruin Farm. There's a really nice wooden bridge which is a popular spot for photographs.
Afterward, we were able to take the Llama's (Icarus and Glen) out for a wee wander and get some more photographs. One of them is actually an Alpaca but I can't remember which one! Anyway, they were both very well behaved and didn't seem bothered by me or my camera, which was good.
The speeches and meal were set in the larger glass-fronted barn - a nice big space with beautiful views out over the hills.
Once the meal was over it was time to cut the cake and then the happy couple spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor with their guests!
It was an awesome wedding I'm so grateful to Kelly & Kirsty for trusting me to capture their special day for them.
