Beautiful wedding at The radstone hotel

Rachael and Connor got married at The Radstone Hotel on the 4th of June 2023, a beautiful wedding venue on the outskirts of Glasgow in rural Lanarkshire.

It was another roasting hot June wedding with blue skies and plenty of sunshine.

Rachael and Connor both got ready at the venue, their rooms directly opposite each other, which meant it was easy for me to jump between the two and capture both sides of the wedding party before the ceremony. It's rare that I'm able to do this so it was a nice change of pace for me. I just had to be extra careful when moving between rooms!

Once the hair and make-up were finished, the girls went upstairs to the honeymoon suite to get ready and I got Rachael in position so that I could capture her dad's and bridesmaids' reactions to seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time.

The ceremony room at the Radstone is huge with lots of space to move around in which is great for me as a photographer. There's also lots of natural light pouring in from the glass windows at the end. It was a short and simple humanist ceremony and then everyone headed outside for the reception.

After the ceremony, guests are ushered out into the private wedding garden where we made a start on the family and group photos. The sun was beaming down but thankfully there was a nice big pergola which we were able to use for the group photos and shield everyone from the sunshine for a while.

For the couple's photos, there is an area out the front of the hotel with a bridge, a small pond, and gardens that I used to get some nice portraits of Rachael and Connor.

After the meal, the room was turned round quickly and then it was straight into the cake-cutting and first dance. After the formal dances, a DJ and saxophonist kept the dancefloor going for the rest of the night!

I had a lot of fun at this wedding and I'm thankful to have been a part of Rachael & Connor's day.
