rustic barn wedding at dalduff farm

Finola & Damian married at Dalduff Farm on the 28th of June 2023, a stunning wedding venue nestled in the scenic Ayrshire countryside.

Finola and her wedding party spent the morning getting ready at Finola's parent's house before heading off to the venue for the ceremony. Everyone was relaxed and having fun so I was able to just hang out and capture the morning unfolding naturally. Thankfully the house is huge and has plenty of natural night coming in from the windows, making my job that bit easier.

Once everyone was ready it was time to head off to the venue. Damian and his groomsmen were already there and had spent their morning getting ready in the farmhouse.

The ceremony took place in the smaller of the Dutch barns with the reception held in the other. It was a short humanist ceremony with Finola and Damian having a traditional hand-fasting before the ring exchange. This barn is a nice space to get married in, there's lots of light coming in so the images have a bright and airy feel to them.

After the ceremony, everyone was ushered out into the larger of the Dutch barns for the reception. Again, this is a nice big space (complete with bar) for guests to mingle and relax before dinner. There is also a nice courtyard area directly outside which we used for the group photos. The red wall of the barn gives a good contrast and serves as a perfect background.

I then took the couple to a few different spots around the property to get some more photographs taken. There is a garden area at the back of the property which has some great spots for photos, including the farmhouse itself with leaves and vines growing up the wall. These were some of my favourite photos from the day.

The inside space for the meal and evening reception is small and cosy and has that rustic farmhouse feel to it. The evening entertainment was a great Ceilidh band called The Jiggers who kept everyone up on the dancefloor until I left to go home.

I had a great time at this wedding and I'm so thankful to Finola and Damian for trusting me to capture their special day.
